Fibre optic cables will be ‘more important than ever’
The latest fibre optic cables in the UK will be ‘more important than ever’, it has been claimed.
Network Communications News (NCN) has claimed that increased demand for high-speed Ethernet has resulted in a growing need for fibre cables.
Michael Crane, editor of Network Communications News (NCN), said: ‘As the demand for ever more bandwidth and higher speeds continues to grow at a rapid pace, the latest fibre cables will be more important than ever.’
Discussing the introduction of OM4-class fibre, the expert added: ‘It is ideal for multiple applications such as backbone connections in enterprise LANs [local area networks] and data centres. It is the best platform available for the transmission of ten Gigabit Ethernet and now 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet.
Mr Crane also advised businesses not to rush into investing in a top of the range cabling system.
Instead he urged firms to consult an installer in order to make sure they acquire a system that best suits their needs, therefore preventing them from spending unnecessary funds.
