The Challenge

The requirements of this project were based upon delivering an outdoor grade Wireless solution that could handle the seamless collection of Data from hand held units used for stock counting/picking purposes within the internal warehouse areas and external yard spaces. Wireless connectivity within an industrial or outdoor environment can be a tricky concept for most…. however by adopting the same technical principals and and with the site specific requirements in mind an effective Wireless solution is always available.

WiFi had to cover the the main factory shop floor,  a remote warehouse and the outside loading space.

The Solution

Providing 6x External grade Wireless access points along with two fibre optic links, to the remote warehouse and shop floor. Providing seamless coverage of all areas that needed Wireless connectivity. External grade 802.11ac access points were chosen throughout the job due to the extreme temperatures experienced in the warehouse.

The wireless access points were then linked to a central controller running on site. This was set-up on a virtual machine on an existing server. We worked with the in house IT team to ensure the system worked as expected.

The wireless system includes its own software that installs on any PC within the Network and is accessible through any standard Web browser making the control of the system easy and effective.  Changes and configuration can be administered without any special training, real time status, Auto access point detection, map loading and advanced security options are all seamlessly integrated.
